It is not our story. It is God writing His story using our lives, weaving them into His story. He is the author. Our job is to trust and obey.
How it started
In 2006 the Lord gave Simone Batchadji a vision to reach the street children of Cameroon. He called her to provide a home for children that she did not know.
Land for the home was provided by a donation by Simone’s late husband. The land is located near the town of Manjo
Clearing the Land
The first task is to clear the land.
Making Bricks
In 2010 a small pavilion is built to be the site for brickmaking. Bricks are made, two at a time.
Running Water
What a gift not to have to walk and carry the water bucket by bucket!
Foundation Laid
Finally in 2015, the foundations for the first two houses are laid.
Houses #1 (Love) and #2 (Peace) Built
In 2016, the first two houses (Love for the girls, Peace for the boys) are finally built.
Solar Electricity and Plumbing
Solar powered electricity and Plumbing is installed in the first two houses in 2016.
Relationships established in Community and first Prayer Walk
It takes a whole community. 2016.
Ready to Open
In 2017, fully furnished, our first crop, and we are finally Social-Services approved.
Gathering Place Built
Building a place where all the children can meet, eat, do homework and play during the rainy season. 2017.
Opening Ceremony
Finally ready to open Manjo Children’s Home in 2018.
First Children Arrive
In 2018, the first children find a home at Manjo Children’s Home.
Water Well
What a relief to finally have access to clean water in 2019!
First Year Anniversary

Fish pond renovation
The fish pond is an ongoing challenge and needed re-digging.
Several other building projects got done
Storage shed under water tower, generator building (generator arrived at year end), Houses Miranda and Joy got solar panels, electrical lighting to MCH got installed, and more.

Staff Updates
Merlin left to continue higher studies in agriculture. Gerard finished his two year contract on our agricultural team and moved back to Benin. Peter also left this year.
We are glad to have Marie fully back again, well and healthy after health struggles. She is the house parent for House Joy, together with Barbara.
Samuel and Arlette continue to serve as house parents in House Love.
Joseph and Carolyn joined our team as house parents in House Peace.
The older boys moved into House Miranda.
Miranda, our first house mother still comes around to visit and hosted groups of children over the summer vacation in her home.
