Prayer

“Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.” - Oswald Chambers

Would you join us in praying for the children, the staff, and the whole ministry. Without God we cannot do anything, but with Him the impossible becomes possible. Only He can truly restore and heal. We want Manjo Children’s Home to be a testimony of His goodness, grace, restoration, provisions, and glory. We want it to be about Him and what He does - His story.

God gave Simone Batchadji Njei, the founder of Manjo Children’s Home, the vision for this ministry, while on her knees on a spiritual retreat. She then started it in total dependence on God, bringing all needs and requests before Him. We want this ministry always to be bathed in prayer, in total reliance on God. It is His work, so He needs to lead and guide, as well as provide.

Yes, we do need funds, but our greater request would be for many to carry this work in prayer. Often it is easier to donate monetarily, than to spend time on our knees on behalf of His people. Our money can provide the external goods, only God can restore the heart and the life of a child. Only God can give the love to love each child the way He loves. Only God can provide the staff with wisdom and grace to do their work well.

“A man is what he is on his knees - nothing more and nothing less.” - Robert Murray McCheyne

“Intercession is truly universal work for the Christian. No place is closed to intercessory prayer. No continent - no nation - no organization- no city- no office. There is no power on earth that can keep intercession out.” - Richard Halverson

“There is no way that Christians, in a private capacity, can do so much to promote the work of God and advance the Kingdom of Christ as by prayer.” - Jonathan Edwards

“The greatest thing anyone can do for God or for man is to pray. You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed. Prayer is striking the winning blow… service is gathering up the results.” - S.D. Gordon

“God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil… The prayer of God’s saints is the capital stock of heaven by which God carries on His great work upon the earth. God conditions the very life and prosperity of His cause on prayer.” - E.M. Bounds

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced crops.” - James 5: 16b-17

“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.” - Samuel Chadwick
